Happy Island opened its doors, or rather slides, this September 2019! It has already been amply titled the biggest water amusement park in South Africa, boasting an array of water related rides, slides and activities.
Located in the Gauteng province, north of Johannesburg, Happy Island is like diving into another world, forgetting that you are just minutes from the bustling city of Jozi.
Happy Island spans across 4 large properties making it ideal for all ages with specially designed rides and park areas for the little ones and some adrenaline pumping thrill slides for the bigger kids - a perfect day out for the whole family!

Happy Island Water World boasts 15 epic slides, the biggest wave pool we have ever seen and various pools for those looking for a hydro massage.
Happy Island Slides & Pools
Happy Island is all about firsts - the first of its kind in the Gauteng area not to mention the largest, and the first to feature the Typhoon slide!
All rides, slides and facilities are carefully monitored by cctv cameras and a full staff of medics and ILS registered paramedics are on hand incase of any emergencies.
Your entrance band allows you access to all rides and slides all day!

Wave Pool
Experience the 2 largest Wave Pools in Africa, measuring an epic 20 000 square meters - the hydraulic mechanisms pump out waves at regular intervals.

Gravity Loop
Be sucked down a near vertical slide into a massive loop reaching speeds of up to 60km/h with a 2.5 g force hitting your body in less that 2 seconds.
- Restrictions: Must be taller than 1.3m and weigh less than 740kgs

Lazy River
The Lazy River is perfect for all ages, gently float on rubber tubes along the 850m course through the stunning surrounds of the waterpark. Grab your tubes at the entrance to the river (single or double) and enjoy the gentle cruise.

High Speed Slide
Zoom down back to the earth at 40km/h on the High Speed Slide, this is not for the faint-hearted.
- Restrictions: Must be taller than 1.3m and weigh between 40kgs and 120kgs

Behemoth Bowl
This 4 person wild tube ride will have you whizzing down an enclosed tube into a large bowl that pours you out into the clear cool water pool below.

Master Blaster Super Tubes
The Master Blaster Tubes are 3 different super tubes, 2 of which are your classic super tube experience with the third getting your heart racing in the dark down the enclosed tube. These rides can be enjoyed as single or double tube experiences.

Typhoon
The Typhoon is the first of its kind in Africa, experience being sucked down a giant funnel into the water below!

Rainbow Slide
The fast and fun ride down the Rainbow Slides gives thrill seekers the opportunity to race against one another.

Fun Slides
The Fun Slides provide a safe slide experience for kids where they can slide through the rocky surrounds into a shallow pool below. There are 3 Fun Slides for the little ones to enjoy.

Amazon Rainforest
The Amazon Rainforest is a park within a park - dedicated to children, the forest features slides, a pool and a tropical forest maze to explore.

Waddle Pool
This ride is designed for the very young, providing a safe place to splash and slide in the 11/2 feet deep wading pool.

Spray Park
The Spray Park is home to Happy Island's water creatures where kids can enjoy dozens of playful fountains while splashing between the fixed island creatures. This is ideal for teens, children and toddlers.

Boome Rango
Zoom up and down vertical slopes on a four person tube all while spinning around the wide tube.

Spiral Slide
The Spiral Slide is suited for all ages - this fast paced slide will have you twisting and turning down its curvy course landing you in a cool pool at the end.

Massage Pools
Let the cool watered massage pools gently knead your body with a hydro massage all while cooling off. During winter these pools will be heated.

Pirate Boat Slide
The Pirate Boast is perfect for the kids. Experience pirate life or escape the hoards down the slide into the Lazy River.

Happy Island Camp Out
The Happy Island Camp Out is available for corporate bookings only. This very special overnight stay in the park can accommodate large groups in domed tents - a truly unique experience.

Excited about your trip to Happy Island? I bet you are. These are the goodies you will find invaluable for your visit to Happy Island Water World South Africa.

🌲Shaded areas are available on a first come first serve basis - so arrive early to secure the perfect spot.
Happy Island Entrance Fee, Specials & Packages
Happy Island entrance fees are all inclusive. They have an online payment option (we would recommend this as the queues can get quite long at the entrance) as well as pay at the gate option.
The park stores and kiosks work on a card less system - meaning you load your arm band with some rands and simply scan your band at the various stores, kiosks and vendors.
💳 There are 2 ATM's within the park itself for band top ups.

Take the Beyers Naude off-ramp and head west towards Honeydew. Travel past Honeydew on Beyers Naude for 10km before turning right into Valley Road. Travel down Valley Road for 950m and then turn left into Lake View Drive. Travel 650m on Lake View Drive. Turn Right into and Happy Island Waterworld.

The park might close at 6pm, however, all slides and rides close promptly at 5pm.

As all good things are subject to certain terms and conditions, put in place for your safety. Please carefully read through Happy Island terms and conditions before planning your visit.
- 3 of the 16 features have a weight restriction of 90kg (Speed slides). The rest of them either have an unlimited Weight restriction or it is rated for 110-130kg pp.
- No refunds are given on tickets purchased - you may request a postponement on those tickets to another date of your choice. Note that this is only possible once per order.
- Happy Island is an alcohol-free park.
- No outside food, drinks, cooler-boxes allowed into the park.
- No braai facilities at the park.
- No pets allowed
- No firearms, weapons of any sort are allowed in the park.
- Dangerous or offensive behaviour is not allowed.
- Smoking is allowed in the designated smoking areas.
- All prices are subject to change without notice.
Availability of rides, shows and attractions are subject to change without notice. Due to maintenance and other circumstances, certain rides and attractions (including new rides) may not be open to the public - please check their website here for ride availability.
